Important Notes
The Fiscal Impact Model is an Excel Workbook. Computers are available for use on a limited basis. It is suggested that the participants bring a laptop computer equipped with Microsoft Excel 2002 or later, if possible. Please note on the registration form if you will be bringing your own laptop for use in training.
The Fiscal Impact Model training program has some basic prerequisites:
- First, since the model was developed as a large Excel "workbook," the trainee must have a working knowledge of Microsoft Excel. This knowledge should include making changes to cells, tracking formulas throughout integrated workbooks, formatting, printing and worksheet protection. To facilitate its application in a wide range of real-world circumstances, it was designed as an open-code system. Thus, the FIAM trainee must have a good working knowledge of Excel prior to the commencement of training.
- Second, the trainee must posses a good working knowledge of algebra. While the Fiscal Impact Model formulae are mathematically intricate, they are almost exclusively very simple algebraic constructs.
Advanced or specialty training is available at an hourly rate. Please inquire here.
A FIAM training registration form, user manual, and current Microsoft Excel Fiscal Impact Model is available for your use in our File Download section.
